AUGUST-2010
The owner of Flying
Scotchman, Roy Arneson, recently donated an intro flight to
a fundraiser benefiting the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of
America (Minnesota and Dakotas chapter).
We are happy to
have our Chief Pilot Randy Arneson back! He will be with us
temporarily before he moves back to Arizona in the winter. He
is currently working on an aerial photography book, featuring
his photos from many years of flying!

The
flight simulator is in need of students. It is $43.00 per hour
to use if you are a club member (excludes tax).
Reasons using a simulator is great:
* Reduced operating costs *Instant replay in setting up different
flight scenarios *Ability to experience emergency situations
without risking your safety *Again-It's much cheaper
than actually training in a plane.

Flying
Scotchman has online scheduling! We are using AircraftClubs.com.
Please inquire for more information on how to access it.
Thank you
to those who came to the open house! We had a good turnout,
sold some intro flights, and have some new potential students.
We look forward to some new customers to fill up our great summer
flying months.
Be sure
to mark your calendars for our open house May 15th. We will
have free food, drink, the facilities will be open to tour,
and you can view our plane for sale.

APRIL-2010
We
have planned a date for the open house! It
will be held May 15, 2010 to commemorate the first ever International
Learn To Fly Day. Please tell your friends and family. There
will be light beverages and food available, and an instructor
to answer questions. Interested parties can also tour our facilities!
The Frasca 142 flight simulator is now
up and running again! We did some spring cleaning and now all
rooms will be available for students and instructors to train
in or lounge.

MARCH-2010
We are
in the midst of opening up the Simulator building again. We
have a visual on it now, and our CFI's are checking it out to
make sure it will be in a great condition for training. Plans
for an open house are currently underway. Please feel free to
make suggestions if you have any ideas for activities.

FEBRUARY-2010
$20 Hourly discount
on flying rates, starting February 18th. Now is a great time
to do a biennual flight review! Cessna 172: $100, Cessna 172

Thomas Koppie, pictured above, is currently serving
our country in Iraq. When he returns, he plans to finish his
private pilot training with our CFI Chris Nelson.
Tony Tryon, pictured above, recently soloed for the

6/2009-The Flight Simulator building is undergoing maintenance,
including being cleaned and the flight simulator is being repaired.
Once this process is completed, the building will be a new and
improved facility for students and instructors!
APRIL/MAY-2009
4/2009-Flying Scotchman welcomes our new CFI, Jonathan Koski.
As a former member and long time pilot, we are happy to have
him on our flight instruction team!
