History of Flying Scotchman

Flying Scotchman has established a 49 year history of service to the aviation community. We have grown to become a full service facility with an enviable safety record.

We began in 1959 with one Piper J-3 Cub and have expanded into a full service FBO offering a fleet of six aircraft for your rental. In 1970 we moved from a hanger into a small building the tower personnel called "the fish house". It remains on the premises to this day, used as a storage area.

In 1974, we built the main office building, and in 1983 built a larger hanger attached to the main building. During the period between 1984-1985 the inside of the main hangar was finished and furnished with two offices, a lunch room and a mechanic's office. In the late 80's the ramp was expanded and repaved.
